Mariner Energy (ME) announced the acquisition of 54,000 net acres in the Denver Julesburg (DJ) Basin that is prospective for the Niobrara Shale. The deal closed on April 13, 2010, and Mariner Energy would not disclose the purchase price or the name of the seller.
The Niobrara Shale acreage is located is Laramie County, Wyoming. Apache Corporation (APA) is purchasing Mariner Energy.
