Carrizo Oil And Gas Reports Niobrara Shale Well Completion

Carrizo Oil and Gas (CRZO) reported the completion of the company’s first well into the Niobrara Shale on its acreage in Colorado.  The company has a total of 61,000 net acres in Weld and Morgan Counties.

The State 16-11-9-60 well produced at a rate of 690 barrels of oil per day, and is currently stable and producing at 530 barrels of oil per day. 

Carrizo Oil and Gas will start hydraulic fracturing operations on January 12, 2010, on the Bob White 36-44-8-62 well, the company’s second Niobrara Shale well.

Carrizo Oil and Gas Updates Niobrara Activity

Carrizo Oil and Gas (CRZO) issued an operations update on its activities in the Rocky Mountain area where the company is developing the Niobrara Shale.  The company has 59,000 net acres under lease in Weld County, Colorado.

Carrizo Oil and Gas plans to begin hydraulic fracturing operations on the State 16-11-9-60H well on December 1, 2010, and expects a production report before the end of the year. 

Carrizo Oil and Gas has also started drilling the vertical portion of the Bob White 36-44-8-62H well, the company’s second well into the Niobrara Shale.  The company expects results from this well in early 2011, and plans to start drilling a third well once drilling on the Bob White 36-44-8-62H well is finished.
