Anadarko Petroleum (APC) issued an operational update on the company’s development of the Niobrara Shale in the second quarter of 2011. The company has leasehold prospective for this play in the Denver Julesburg and Powder River Basins and plans to drill forty Niobrara Shale wells in 2011.
Anadarko Petroleum is operating three rigs in the Denver Julesburg Basin and drilled ten horizontal Niobrara Shale wells during the quarter. The company has fifteen wells here on production.
Anadarko Petroleum plans to add a rig in the Powder River Basin during the third quarter of 2011 to test the Niobrara and various other formations on its 360,000 net acres here.
