EOG Resources (EOG) reported earnings for the fourth quarter of 2010 and released additional information on its operations in the Niobrara Shale. The company has focused in on its acreage at Hereford Ranch in Weld County, Colorado, where it has 80,000 net acres under lease.
EOG Resources has drilled multiple commercial wells into the Niobrara Shale, and reported that the company’s efforts have moved the play from “fractures to a more matrix-dominated play.” This will increase the number of wells that can be drilled into the Niobrara Shale.
